Real-Time Information Center
The Real-Time Information Center (RTIC), operated by the University of Illinois Division of Public Safety, is a technology-driven hub designed to support law enforcement and first responders in addressing criminal activity and public safety issues. It integrates advanced tools, staff expertise and data analytics to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of police services across the University of Illinois community.
The RTIC’s mission focuses on quickly responding to community needs by providing real-time, actionable intelligence to frontline and investigative officers. This information, derived from state-of-the-art systems, enhances situational awareness, reduces response times to crimes in progress, and promotes officer and community safety.
By leveraging data-driven enforcement strategies, the RTIC aims to decrease crime rates, alleviate public fear, and foster greater trust through increased community engagement.
