University Police investigating battery on U. of I. employee

The employee reported that he was working inside the building around 4:09 a.m. when he was struck in the head from behind by an offender who quickly left the area.

Police make sure needy families have food on the table

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — U. of I. Police officers and others from the Fraternal Order of Police, Illini Lodge 17, spent Monday morning making sure that struggling Champaign-Urbana families will have food on the table this holiday season. This year, Illini Lodge 17 police officers and volunteers will personally deliver the food baskets to 450 families.
