URBANA – The University of Illinois Police Department is congratulating Jennifer Payan for receiving Clery Compliance Officer certification through the National Association of Clery Compliance Officers and Professionals (NACCOP). Payan, an employee of the University of Illinois Police Department for nearly 25 years, is responsible for a wide array of the department’s and the university’s responsibilities under the federal Clery Act, Violence Against Women Act and Title IX. URBANA – The University of Illinois Police Department is congratulating Detective Rachael Ahart on her selection by her peers and supervisors as the 2017 Ralph F. Hamlin Officer of the Year. The award was presented among other UIPD awards at a Friday evening ceremony to recognize the good work of UIPD staff throughout the past year. UIPD invites public comment during accreditation period
URBANA — The University of Illinois Police Department is encouraging members of the general public to call in and leave comments while a law enforcement team examines the department’s policies, procedures, operations and management. The evaluation is a routine part of the Illinois Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (ILEAP) accreditation process. The evaluators last reviewed the University of Illinois Police Department in 2012 and gave the department their highest (Tier 2) accreditation level based on its ability to meet each of 180 evaluation criteria. Police report on distracted driving campaign
The Champaign Police Department and University of Illinois Police Department joined forces with other law enforcement agencies throughout the state of Illinois last week to bring attention to the dangers and consequences associated with distracted driving.
Concerts will affect traffic near State Farm Center
CHAMPAIGN – Motorists traveling through campus should expect increased traffic near State Farm Center throughout the day Saturday. Two concerts featuring Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are scheduled for Saturday at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The most significant traffic impacts are expected between roughly 6-7 p.m., as vehicles depart the first show and new vehicles arrive for the second show.
