Police will be watchful for bicycle law violations
URBANA – Police officers from the University of Illinois Police Department will be particularly watchful during the next week for traffic violations that put bicyclists at risk. Special traffic enforcement details will be conducted on Thursday, Sept. 13, and Tuesday, Sept. 18. Officers will be conducting the enforcement details at the intersections of Green and Wright streets and of Goodwin Avenue and Illinois Street. Campus community members will have the opportunity to sign up for the academy in either the fall or spring semester. Traffic advisory: Use caution on St. Mary’s Road
URBANA, Ill. – Motorists should be particularly careful on St. Mary’s Road near the Campus Rec fields for the next couple weeks while the Fighting Illini football team holds training camp. U. of I. Police will be using special patrols on St. Mary’s Road this week and next watching for people driving faster than the 25 mph posted speed limit. University to test distribution of emergency medical supplies
URBANA, Ill. – In its continuing effort to prepare the campus for any kind of emergency, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign on Wednesday will test its ability to deliver medicine and medical supplies to a large number of campus community members. The “point of distribution” exercise, as it’s called, will happen between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday at State Farm Center. The exercise is designed to test the procedures in place for campus officials to receive, distribute and administer medication and other supplies during a public health emergency.
