URBANA, Ill. – The University of Illinois Police Department is reminding students that state law and university procedures protect them from getting in trouble when they call 9-1-1 to help someone in need. Police training scheduled at Burnsides Lab
URBANA, Ill. – The University of Illinois Police Department will be conducting training over the next 10 days at Burnsides Research Laboratory, 1208 W. Pennsylvania Ave., Urbana. We are announcing this training so that our campus community members are not alarmed by the heavy police presence. Most of the training will be small scale and occur after dark. URBANA, Ill. – During national Stalking Awareness Month, the University of Illinois Police Department wants to remind students, faculty and staff of the resources available if they ever feel their safety is threatened by another person – including a new state law that strengthens protections against unwanted social media contact. According to the Stalking Prevention, Awareness, and Resource Center (SPARC), stalking affects one in six women and one in 17 men across the United States.
