UIPD clarifies role in immigration enforcement

URBANA – Following the president’s executive order on immigration, the University of Illinois Police Department’s first priority continues to be the safety and academic success of all students, faculty and staff. UIPD is reminding students and others who may be affected by the order that officers do not inquire about anyone’s immigration status. No injuries in small helicopter crash at Willard Airport

SAVOY, Ill. – No one was hurt Wednesday in a small helicopter crash at Willard Airport. Emergency crews responded to the crash at 1:38 p.m. Wednesday. Two were aboard a small training helicopter – both the student and the pilot were examined by medical crews on scene and released with no apparent injuries. The majority of emergency crews had cleared the scene by 2:30 p.m. and no flights in or out of Willard Airport were affected. Sexual violence detective hopes to support survivors

URBANA – A University of Illinois Police detective was one of 10 law enforcement officials in the country chosen to receive a scholarship to attend a conference which aims to prevent violence against women.
