Traffic advisory: Kirby Avenue closed Oct. 18
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Kirby Avenue near Memorial Stadium will be closed beginning at noon on Friday, Oct. 18. It will reopen after the Fighting Illini football game on Saturday. The closure of Kirby Avenue between First and Fourth streets is to accommodate television broadcast equipment setup for the football game on Saturday. Other game day road closures will begin as normal at 6 a.m. Saturday. Motorists are advised to plan another route for their afternoon commute on Friday. The University of Illinois Police Department appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation in advance of the event.
University Police Department investigating offensive graffiti

Campus traffic delays expected during triathlon Sunday
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Motorists should expect traffic delays Sunday morning as athletes participate in the Tri the Illini 2019 triathlon. The race will begin at 8 a.m. in the pool at the Activities and Recreation Center, 201 E. Peabody Drive, Champaign. From there, the athletes will bicycle from the ARC and head south on First Street, eventually out to Old Church Road and High Cross Road in Urbana, and then back to the ARC. URBANA, Ill. – The University of Illinois Police Department this week published its Annual Security and Fire Safety Report, which includes statistics about crime and fire incidents and campus policies on safety-related activities.
